Ingredients
For the filling:

–7 medium apples
Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or mix, peeled and sliced

For the topping:

old-fashioned rolled oats

light brown sugar

granulated sugar

1 stick unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter or spray a 9x9-inch baking dish.
2️⃣ In a large bowl, toss apples with sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour until coated. Pour into baking dish.
3️⃣ In another bowl, stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in melted butter and mix until crumbly.
4️⃣ Sprinkle topping evenly over apples. Bake 40–45 minutes, until apples are tender and topping is golden.
5️⃣ Let cool slightly, then serve warm — preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
You can leave the apple peels on if you like a little texture.
Swap half the apples for pears for a fun twist!
